I didn’t realize it until I typed out the playlist just now, but this is a lot of what I’ve been listening to to get into working for Meerenai’s piece. A few of those tracks found their way into other play lists, too. Really, these podcasts are just what’s been getting in my own ear that I think is worth sharing. See you in a few weeks.

Another short break

Hi all-

Podcasts will be continuing, but I need some time to polish off some projects and overhaul my music organizational system. I need to go back through old play lists and figure out what I have played and what I haven’t gotten a chance to play. It might take a while…. I’ve got a few hundred playlists to comb through and a painfully large amount of music in iTunes to sort.

As always, if you want to send music my way or do something interview-like on the show sometime this fall or beyond, hit me up.

Update: OOPS. I have one more podcast in the can that’ll be coming out on Wednesday. So, uh, the hiatus I guess won’t really begin until Thursday.

Episode 182: with Jeffrey Young!

Jeffrey Young – Jeffrey Young’s Magical Kingdom of Dust (tentative title) – Live in Studio
Interview with Jeffrey Young

Todd Reynolds – Ice Sleeves of Green V2.0 – Outerborough

I didn’t air this podcast first, but Jeff visited Austin in November and got me back on the wagon by suggesting he come over and do an interview and performance. So thanks, Jeff! Again, a bit of a different format from the last two shows. We’ll be back in a few weeks for another one!

Show 179 7/26/14 2-4pm

So today was my last regular shift on WRSU-FM. I’m heading to Austin in a few weeks. I chose to play a lot of musicians who came on the show or I connected with via the program. I snuck in a few personal favorites, as well.

Show 178 7/19/2014 2-4pm

Corey was on today. We played some music we liked and attempted to banter. Dan Scheck, Mike Sinai, and Ed also had supporting banter roles. I’m not sure how it’ll play for you, the listeners, but it was plenty fun for me.

Show 177 6/28/14 2-4pm

Followed Mark Corso this week who was doing is best Ed Wong as Jonathan Schwartz impression. You can hear his folk show Sundays on RSU. The show got a bit political in the in the middle completely by accident. Who knew Frankie was such a peacenik?

Show 176 2-4pm

Rocky start thanks to the computer losing track of my USB drive a few times. That problem cleared up as someone called into the station to tell me to turn off this piano crap while I was playing the Mozart. He sounded annoyed by Mozart enough that I think I ruined his day.

Show 175 5/31/14 1-4pm

I came in hour early to help Ed get somewhere on time, and it feels good to be back on the air for the first time in FOREVER. Started off with a long noisy drone track and had three people call in to tell me that the station was off the air. That’ll definitely stand as one of my favorite WRSU moments of all time.
