Today will be all about the second edition of New Brunswick’s experimental music festival, the Omega Sound Fix. Joining me in the studio will be festival organizer Michael Durek and performer STRNGLV. They’ll be making some music and talking about the festival, which will be happening on April 20 and 21st at Alfa Art Gallery.

Today is a super duper long radio show, and we’ll be focusing on Mister Cage, who would have turned 100 this year. In honorof the occasion, Justin Bulava is presenting a concert in New Brunswick on April 5 at 7pm. Facebook details here.
I’ll be starting at 2pm, exploring some of Cage’s longer works. Justin will be getting to the studio a little later on and will have his devil stick in hand to play some music and talk about the man, his music, and his ideas.

Today was mostly long tracks, which can make for an awkward radio show when you only have an hour. I really enjoyed the Prokofiev, and the entire Sonata is excellent. It’s also nice to play some music from my old trombone professor, Michael Powell of the American Brass Quintet. Play list after the jump:
